A classic location, but far from an ordinary hotel. We’ve been excited about the arrival Uga Ghiri for some time – a chic, all-villa retreat in Ella, bringing a new level of luxe to the area. The fifteen villas are vast and private, dotted around the ten acre tea estate, with luxurious touches including a private jacuzzi on every balcony. Enjoy views over the famed Nine Arch Bridge without even leaving the estate, watching as the blue train weaves through the verdant valley below. The hospitality here is generous, sophisticated and discreet. Unwind from the road journey with a pampering spa treatment, or get the blood flowing on a hike to one of the nearby peaks. However your days are spent, this is a serene space to return to at the end of the day.

Each of the stylish villas measures a generous 1200ft sq., with an airy living space leading to a private balcony with jacuzzi overlooking the tea plantations. Interiors are contemporary mixing neutral colours with the textures and heritage of Sri Lankan craftsmanship in the art and furnishings. En-suite bathrooms feature a bathtub as well as walk-in shower and dual vanities.
