Sitting slap-bang in the middle of the Cyclades, Paros and Antiparos offer a quieter alternative to better-known neighbours Santorini and Mykonos. Paros is a Mediterranean medley of everything we love about the Greek islands: whitewashed buildings, timeless villages, sleepy harbours and blonde beaches.
Just beside its bigger sister, tiny Antiparos invites you to slow down a little further. Quiet courtyards, blue-topped churches and alleyways draped in fuchsia bougainvillea retain a lovely local feel, while caramel-coloured beaches complete the picture. A Greek piece of paradise you’ll want to keep to yourself.
Best time to visit Paros & Antiparos
May to September is a lovely time to visit Paros and Antiparos, with sunny days for exploring whitewashed villages and lunches beside the sea. June and September are our favourite months, offering warm weather and a little more space on the sand. July and August bring more bustle, while seasonal Meltemi winds offer a cooling breeze but can occasionally affect boat trips.

Villages & Harbour Life
Explore Paros beyond the beach, starting in Lefkes, where marble-paved lanes wind between whitewashed houses and little shaded squares. Down on the coast, Naoussa’s fishing harbour is a lovely place to linger, with boats bobbing beside the Venetian fortress and restaurants overlooking the water. Over on Antiparos, wander through the main town’s bougainvillea-lined streets towards its historic Venetian castle. We recommend exploring in the late afternoon, leaving time for a browse in the shops before finding a favourite table for dinner.
