Luxury French Polynesia Holidays

French Polynesia, often known as The Islands of Tahiti, is made up of 118 islands scattered across five archipelagos in the heart of the South Pacific. Tahiti is the gateway, with Papeete, lush mountains, waterfalls, black-sand beaches and legendary surf at Teahupo’o. Nearby Moorea brings dramatic ridgelines and pineapple plantations, while Bora Bora is famous for its lagoon, overwater bungalows and unmistakable volcanic silhouette. Beyond the Society Islands, the Tuamotus offer vast coral atolls such as Rangiroa and Fakarava, where ocean and lagoon meet in spectacular shades of blue. Taha’a is known for its clear lagoon and vanilla-scented landscapes, while the remote Marquesas feel wilder and more elemental. Island hopping is the best way to experience French Polynesia, combining different landscapes, cultures and styles of stay in a journey that reveals just how varied these islands really are.

Travel Guide

French Polynesia enjoys a warm tropical climate year-round. May to October is generally the driest and most comfortable period, with lower humidity, plenty of sunshine and daytime temperatures in the high 20s. November to April is warmer and more humid, with a greater chance of tropical showers, although sunny spells are still common. July to November is also the best time for whale watching, particularly around Moorea and Tahiti. For the best balance of weather, marine life and island-hopping conditions, May to October is our favourite time to travel.
